Description
CT Technologist (Radiology / Cardiology) - Travel/Contract
Location: Antioch, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Perform quality computerized tomography (CT) examinations and assist in CT-guided procedures.
- Coordinate and execute CT exams according to physician orders and protocols.
- Demonstrate critical thinking, knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy/physiology, radiation safety, venipuncture, and safe medication administration related to contrast media.
- Ensure accurate documentation, image transmission/storage, and professional communication.
- Work with patients across all age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
- Responsible for charge capture and documentation accuracy.
Work Schedule
- Night shift, 4 days a week (4x10-hour shifts)
- Shift hours: 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM, Thursday through Sunday
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in California.
- Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience, with experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- ARRT Radiography certification.
- ARRT CT certification.
- An Associate's degree in Radiologic Sciences or equivalent experience in lieu of the degree or diploma.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in an acute care facility is preferred.
Skills and Knowledge
- Proficient in cross-sectional anatomy and technical imaging factors.
- Skilled in using Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) for image transmission, archiving, and retrieval.
- Knowledgeable and compliant with all applicable Federal, State, and local regulatory requirements.
- Ability to assess patient safety and cooperation prior to procedures.
- Effective patient education and communication skills.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender, education verification, and international search if applicable.
- FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required and updated annually.
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana due to CA law).
- Employment application must include full 7 years of work history with no gaps.
- References: 2 professional references within 3 years required for clinical/allied/per diem acute care candidates.
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start.
- Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (exceptions apply).
- TB screening: Negative test or chest x-ray within 90 days of start, renewed annually.
- Immunizations or titers required for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (series or declination)
- Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30) or signed declination.
Certifications and Competencies
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
- Other certifications may be required based on position specifics (verify with recruiter).
