Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR) (Afternoon Shift)
Location: Glens Falls, New York
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide surgical patient care by assessing, planning, and implementing nursing care before, during, and after surgery.
- Maintain a sterile and safe surgical environment.
- Educate patients pre- and post-operatively.
- Monitor patients’ physical and emotional well-being.
- Coordinate patient care throughout the surgical continuum.
- Strong skills required in vascular surgery and orthopedic surgery.
- Primarily a circulating nurse position; scrub experience is a valuable additional skill.
- Patient population includes pediatric through adult.
- Work in 14 operating rooms, including coverage in Labor & Delivery for C-sections.
- Care provided in all surgical specialties except cardiac and ophthalmology.
- Average of 50 procedures per day.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New York.
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment.
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Experience in vascular surgery, orthopedic surgery, trauma, urology, and ENT surgery.
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record system.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- ACLS certification.
Shift & Hours
- Afternoon shift
- 12 hours per day
Additional Information
- Requested time off during the assignment must be noted and verified at the time of application upload; requests after upload will not be approved.
- Non-billable orientation: 8 hours.
- Holiday, call-back, and overtime multipliers apply.
- Call frequency: 4 hours.
- COVID vaccinations are encouraged but not required.
