Description
RN (Registered Nurse)
Location
- Chandler, Arizona
Contract
- 15 weeks
- Nights, 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Active Arizona RN license or compact license
- BLS
- ACLS
- 2+ years of current telemetry experience
- Must be able to titrate drips
- Must be able to interpret EKGs
- NIHSS for the neuro unit
- Pass a dysrhythmia exam before starting, with up to 2 attempts
- Pass/fail simulation lab on day 1 of orientation
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved declination with supporting documentation
Work Setting
- Telemetry float pool with floating between telemetry and MedSurg units
- May float to ICU, cardiac telemetry, holding areas, observation, cath lab, ER, and between campuses
- Frequent floating to a sister campus is required
Unit Details
- Centralized telemetry monitoring
- Ratios: 1:3-4 on telemetry units; 1:4 on MedSurg units
- Every other weekend required on telemetry units
- MedSurg units require 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period and one major plus one minor holiday
- Navy scrubs
- No vents on the listed units
- RT and pharmacy available 24/7 on the listed units
Patient Population
- Telemetry: post-cath lab, post-vascular procedures, day 2 CABG, general telemetry
- Neuro: post-surgical neuro, post-crani, spine, CVA post-TPA
- MedSurg: surgical, oncology, orthopedic, urological, abdominal, Whipple, and women’s surgeries
Orientation
- 2 days on the floor for telemetry units
- 2 shifts on the floor for MedSurg units
