Opportunity:

RN - OR

Job Details:

• Strong background in Neuro/ENT required; RN circulator with scrubbing experience is recommended
• 2 years of experience required; not recommended for first-time travelers
• Patient ratio of 1:1
• Variable start times for day shifts between 5:30 AM and 7:00 AM
• Weekend rotation: N/A
• Required certification: BLS
• Cross-trained to General Main OR specialty and Urology center; no floating to other hospitals or sites
• Orientation period of 1 to 1.5 weeks depending on team and shift, subject to change based on unit needs
• On-call requirements include a 30-minute response time with an 8-week call schedule subject to change based on staffing needs
• AMS end-of-shift call: 8 to 10 slots; overnight call (10:30 PM to 7:00 AM): 1 to 2 slots; weekend call: 1 to 2 weekends
• PM overnight call (10:30 PM to 7:00 AM): 5 to 10 slots; weekend call: 1 to 2 weekends
• Neuro/ENT cases include spine surgeries (laminectomies, ALIFs, fusions, and discectomies), cranial surgeries (tumors, VP shunts, subdural, EVDs), and ENT procedures (neck dissections with flaps, sinus surgery with Stealth Navigation, tonsils, tympanoplasty)
• Navigation systems include Medtronic (cranial and spine), Medtronic Stealth (ENT), and Stryker and Synaptive Navigation (cranial)
• Orthopedic cases include fractures, anterior hips, total joints, ortho spine, and hand/podiatry using Hanna Table equipment
• General cases include breasts/plastics, vascular, laparoscopic, general oncology, genitourinary, gynecology, and robotic surgery (XI); agency staff will not be trained on robotic surgery unless they have a strong background and are contracted for more than one contract
• Charting systems and equipment include EPIC, Alaris, and Pyxis
• Surgical scrubs are provided by the hospital; scrub caps must be covered by a surgical bouffant
• Free parking available with shuttle service provided to and from parking structure
• Starbucks and cafeteria available on campus; no call rooms available

Facility:

This facility is a 636-bed Level III Trauma Center and Level III NICU holding Magnet Designation and Primary Stroke Center status. The main OR features 21 operating rooms with support from charge nurses, leads, supervisors covering AM, PM, and weekend shifts, and a dedicated manager. The facility is equipped with advanced technology and navigational systems to support a wide range of complex surgical specialties.
