Registered Nurse - Stepdown Neuro

Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Patient Population

Neuro Progressive Care Unit (NPCU), 5th floor
20 beds
Patient population includes adult and geriatric patients
Common diagnoses: stable post-stroke, stable neuro surgery patients, telemetry patients, and medical patients
Patient ratio approximately 1:22

Job Responsibilities & Environment

Care for neuro medical stroke patients, neuro-orthopedic surgeries, overflow telemetry, and medical patients
Float requirements include Medical, Telemetry, and Neonatal units
No call requirements
EHR system used: Cerner (experience required)

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Minimum 2 years of experience in Neuro Progressive Care Unit (PCU), with at least some experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Experience with Cerner electronic health record system

Additional Information

Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify for travel status
Weekly guaranteed hours: approximately 36 hours
No specified shift or weekend hours detailed
