Job Opportunity: MRI Tech

Work Schedule

• Monday to Thursday, 4 shifts per week
• 10-hour shifts (6:30 AM to 5:00 PM)
• Holidays worked if they fall on scheduled shift
• Overtime available
• No on-call required
• Floating within scope of practice may be required

Required Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience as an MRI Tech
• Siemens equipment experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience preferred but not required
• First-time travelers accepted

Required Certifications and Licenses

• ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC accepted)
• Radiation badge not required for MRI Techs
• South Carolina state license not required for MRI Techs (but must have active, unencumbered license from another state)
• Color blindness test required prior to start

Important Notes

• Radius rule: 60 miles
• Locals may be accepted on a case-by-case basis
• Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks
• During hurricane season (June-November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams; travelers should consider this before accepting or extending assignments

Required Documentation and Compliance

• Proof of work eligibility (I-9 attestation and form)
• Copy of Driver’s License/State ID
• Copy of Social Security Card or SSN verification
• Background check covering last 7 years of residence/employment, including multiple national and state registries
• Education verification or diploma/transcripts as placeholder
• Employment application including all PTO, contract assignments, agency names, and no unaccounted gaps
• Verification of last 3 clinical employers (or fewer if applicable)
• Passport-style photo for badge (frontal view, solid light background, business casual attire)
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start (approx. 2 hours)
• Annual physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually (specific mask models required)
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination form
  • Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days or proof of prior positive with chest x-ray
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: positive titer or vaccination series with boosters as needed
  • Hepatitis B: titer, vaccine series, or declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption (flu declinations not accepted)
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start (no instant tests)
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable

Requirements/Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of MRI Technologist experience within the last year
• ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC accepted)
• Experience with Siemens MRI equipment
