Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech

Location: Olney, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule

• 4 days of 8-hour shifts (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
• 1 day of 10-hour shift (Wed: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
• Total 42 hours per week with approximately 2 hours overtime
• Every other holiday required
• No on-call or weekend shifts

Job Description

• Work in IR/Cath Lab with mandatory scrubbing for interventional radiology, vascular, and pain procedures
• Proficiency required in operating Philips Azurion C-arm and portable C-arm
• Cases include:

  • Interventional: Tunneled catheter placements (mediports, permacaths, Hickman lines), embolizations, drain placements, suprapubic catheter placements, PEG tube placements, Pleurx catheter placements
  • Pain Management: Epidural blocks, radiofrequency ablations
  • Vascular: Angiograms, thrombectomies, fistulograms, IVC filter placements
• Unit handles CT and X-ray cases but floating to these areas is not required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Maryland
• Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one prior travel assignment
• ARRT (R) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Additional Requirements

• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
• Criminal background check within 90 days of start, including multi-state searches
• Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
• Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• Immunizations and health documentation required:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year, updated annually)
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
  • Documentation of MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella vaccinations or titers
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or approved exemption during flu season
• N95 fit test within 9 months of start, updated annually
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start

Notes

• No weekend or on-call shifts
• Locals within 60 miles may be considered under different terms (not detailed here)
• No floating to CT or X-ray required, but must scrub for IR, vascular, and pain procedures

This position is ideal for experienced Interventional Radiology Technologists seeking a travel contract with a structured weekday schedule and no weekend or on-call duties.
