Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) – Bed Placement/Patient Placement

Location: Phoenix, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Hours: 12 hours per day, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week period (Fri & Sat nights, Sat & Sun days)
Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work holidays if needed; no PTO allowed on holidays
Scheduling:

  • Initial schedule provided; subsequent schedules allow self-scheduling but require balancing to finalize
  • No block scheduling guarantee
    Floating: Not required

Job Description

  • This role involves zero hands-on patient care.
  • Responsible for placing patients in appropriate beds across up to 3 hospitals with 500-1000 beds total.
  • Use critical thinking to ensure patients are placed on the correct unit (e.g., MedSurg vs Telemetry).
  • Communicate with charge nurses or leadership if bed requests/orders are inappropriate.
  • Work primarily on 3 screens using multiple applications including TeleTracking, Cerner, and various Google apps with frequent communication via chat.
  • No responsibility for arranging patient transfers or making treatment recommendations/diagnoses.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Arizona
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Acute care experience
  • Experience with Cerner electronic medical records

Orientation & Training

  • 1 day of general hospital orientation.
  • 3-5 days of department-specific orientation/training, which may occur on any shift.

Additional Information

  • Candidates must pass a Dys exam prior to acceptance; two attempts allowed within 24-48 hours.
  • Candidates cannot have been employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any related facilities within the past year, except PRN through outside firms.
  • Limited to no return to office (RTO) flexibility; primarily 12-hour day shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Dress code: Clean, professional scrubs of any color or casual attire such as jeans (no rips/tears/holes) and clean hoodies without large writing.
  • 24/7 lead and supervisor support available.
