RRT - Respiratory Therapy

Overview

• Travel role in Lafayette, Indiana
• 13-week contract
• Start date: ASAP
• Shift: 6pm–6:30am
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Weekends required: every other weekend
• Call: none

Unit

• Based on the 2nd floor of Franciscan East
• Unit size: 160 beds
• Staffing pattern includes 32 staff
• Patient ratios use an RVU system
• Unit specialties include ICU, Med Surg, ER, and NICU

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Indiana
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (1 year of experience)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• PALS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NRP
• Level 3-unit NICU skills
• Acute care experience with Med Surg, ER, and ICU
• Experience managing Bipaps, ventilators, and Heated High Flow units
• Experience assisting with intubations and bedside bronchs
• Proficient EMR charting

Preferred Qualifications

• NICU experience

Unit Procedures / Clinical Work

• ICU/CCU, NICU, and Emergency Care as an RT
• Work with vents, Drager V500, Aerogon’s, V60 Bipap, HHFNC, Hamilton C-transport, Oscillator, Jet, Nitric, and Bubble CPAP

Work Environment

• Must be willing to handle higher loads and higher-acuity patients
• Expected to be independent and self-motivated
• Willingness to work in Level 3 NICU
• Pewter Gray scrubs required
• New state-of-the-art hospital with a cohesive, experienced staff and progressive physicians
