Medical Surgical Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Shift: Night (4 shifts of 12 hours, 18:30 - 7:00)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Unit: Medical Surgical (Med Surg) - Nights
Option to work either 36 or 48 hours per week (48 hours typical for this posting)
Patient population includes stroke and surgery patients
Telemetry central monitoring tech available 24/7; nurse does not need to interpret dysrhythmias
Float to other units required
Weekend shifts as needed
Unit welcomes first-time travel nurses

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in New Mexico
Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Medical Surgical and Telemetry nursing
BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NIHSS certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Valid Driver’s License or State ID
I-9 verification and E-Verify compliance
7-year background check including SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender, and education verification
Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only) and must be redone for every new contract
Education verification with primary source online verification
NURSYS verification for RN license
Physical exam within 12 months of start
Fit mask test within 1 year of start; must be renewed annually (fit test done onsite)
Negative TB test (2-step PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 1 year or chest X-ray if positive history
Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history)
Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
Photo for badge (clear headshot)
Completion of employment application/resume
Unit-specific skills checklist annually
7-year work history verification

Additional Information

Scrub color: Any color, no logos
Orientation includes safety manual acknowledgement and HIPAA compliance
References are not required for clearance but professional references may be requested internally
Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are welcome
