Unit Information

• Unit: Adult Medical-Surgical (4 West)
• Number of Beds: 34
• Staffing (Day Shift): 1 Charge RN, 6-7 RNs, 3 CNAs, 1 HUC
• Staffing (Night Shift): 1 Charge RN, 5-7 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1 HUC
• Patient Ratios: Day shift 1:4-6, Night shift 1:5-7
• EMR System: Cerner

Job Description

• Provide care for med-surg level patients with telemetry rhythm monitoring
• Assess patient condition and alert Charge RN, Manager, Rapid Response, or Provider when acuity changes
• Perform typical procedures including IV fluids, tube feeds, PEG feedings, IV antibiotics
• Participate in unit huddles at shift start (06:50 AM or 06:50 PM)
• Follow unit policies including clocking in/out for meal breaks and shift start times
• Work every other weekend or approximately 6 weekend shifts per pay period
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Current ACLS certification
• Current BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with ACLS certification preferred

Additional Notes

• Floating to other med-surg units or holding pod in Emergency Department may be required
• Must adhere to all hospital and unit policies and guidelines
