Registered Nurse (RN) - Flex Pool - Nights

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Float RN position covering various medical and surgical units including Medical, Laulima (Surgical Acute), and occasionally Cardiovascular units.
Work primarily 12-hour night shifts (18:45 to 07:15).
Scheduled for 36 hours per week after the first week of orientation; hours are not guaranteed.
Use of Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes.
Orientation provided for each unit.

Unit Details

Medical Unit: 77 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:8 at night.
Laulima Unit (Surgical Acute): 18 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:6.
Cardiovascular Unit: 15 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:4.
Ratios may vary due to unexpected leaves.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Hawaii.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
Medical-Surgical nursing experience within the last year.
Stepdown unit experience.
Current BLS certification.
Current ACLS certification.

Additional Information

Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for an employee health appointment on Friday.
Professional nursing attire (clean scrubs) required.

It’s always 4 to 1 except hallways you might only have 3. The staff is so kind and welcoming I have nothing bad to say about them. This was my favorite assignment so far
