Patient Population
- Mix of patients across floors due to census:
- 9th floor: Rehabilitation
- 11th floor: Surgical and Respiratory
Job Summary
- Provides routine and complex nursing care independently in a similar clinical setting.
- Utilizes nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Manages psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
- Administers medications and treatments per protocol; monitors side effects and effectiveness.
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
- Assesses learning needs and educates patients, families, and caregivers.
- Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers.
- Expected to meet leadership competencies (Leader of Self, Others, or Leaders).
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
