Job Opportunity: MRI Tech

Location: Newark, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Work Schedule

  • Shift: Monday to Friday, 12:30 PM – 8:30 PM (5 days a week, 8 hours per day)
  • No call, no weekends, no holidays

Required Qualifications

  • Valid MRI Technologist license in New York
  • Minimum of 1 year of MRI Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • ARRT-R (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Radiography) certification
  • MRI Certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Experience in leadership roles

Health and Compliance Requirements

Candidates must complete the following health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing the contract:

  • Physical exam (within 1 year, updated annually)
  • Fit mask test (annual)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year) or TB questionnaire
  • Immunizations or positive titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (surface antibody positive, completed series, or declination)
    • Varicella
  • Drug screening (within 30 days of start)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season
  • Snellen eye exam (within 1 year)
  • COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Background and Verification Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID required
  • 7-year criminal background check (felony checks) within 3 months of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 3 months of start, updated monthly
  • Education verification from primary source (required for international education: CGFNS, WES, or equivalent)
  • Employment application and work history verification (at least 2 past employments verified)
  • References (2 within 3 years) required for certain candidates
  • State-specific checks including sex offender registry and Medicaid exclusion list within 30 days of start and monthly thereafter

Additional Compliance and Documentation

  • Primary source verification of state license within 30 days of start
  • Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as required by specialty
  • Color blindness testing (one-time)
  • Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
  • Facility-specific documents including photo for badge and pre-employment compliance attestations
