Job Opportunity: Rad Tech 2 - HVI Proc IR

Job Summary

  • Provide care for patients undergoing invasive cardiology or invasive radiology studies in a Heart & Vascular procedural setting.
  • Assist physicians during procedures and support the patient and care team.

Essential Functions

  • Administer contrast material via existing IV line or by performing venipuncture and IV placement; monitor and respond to allergic reactions.
  • Work under direct supervision of a physicist or dosimetrist.
  • Verify patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment position.
  • Compile relevant clinical information (labs, pathology, etc.).
  • Assist in training new staff as needed.
  • Document procedures accurately and completely.
  • Explain procedures to patients and ensure their comfort, safety, and confidentiality.
  • Inform procedural nurse of correct medication doses, radiation, and counts during procedures.
  • Perform on-call duties and variable shifts as assigned.
  • Perform all standard Radiologic Technologist duties.

Department-Specific Duties

  • Administer and withhold contrast and treatments as appropriate.
  • Assess patients for allergies.
  • Perform peripheral vascular procedures, venous central line care, tube changes, embolization (venous and arterial), and venous thrombectomy.
  • Experience with interventional neurology procedures preferred.
  • Manage dialysis-related procedures (AV fistulas, tunneled dialysis catheters, peritoneal dialysis catheters).
  • Handle tube access and changes (G-tube, cholecystostomy, nephrostomy, biliary, abscess, suprapubic catheter).
  • Neuro procedures ideal (cerebral arterial/venous, kyphoplasty).

Shift

  • Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM (4/9 schedule)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Illinois
  • Minimum of 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
