Registered Nurse — Med/Surg Tele Float
Location
- Parkersburg, West Virginia
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Schedule
- 12-hour day shifts
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend
- Holidays as needed
Required Qualifications
- RN license
- BLS
- ACLS
- Med/Surg background
- Driver’s license with current permanent address
Preferred Experience
- Step-down experience preferred
Unit Details
- Float pool covers inpatient units based on competency, including ICU, step-down, and medical/surgical
- Typical patient populations include cardiac, ortho/neuro, surgical, and medical patients
- Telemetry is used on the unit, with monitor tech support
- RN titration of drips is required in step-down areas only
- Nurse aides are available
Clinical Environment
- Ratios vary by unit:
- Med/surg: 1:6
- Step-down: 1:4/5
- ICU: 1-2/3
- CPAP and BiPAP can be used on all units
- Ventilators are in ICU
- Chronic trach vents can go to step-down
Scheduling / Assignment Notes
- No call requirement
- Standby may be required if census is low
- Daily assignments are obtained by calling the staffing office
Orientation
- 3–4 shifts
Dress Code
- Royal blue scrubs
