Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technician

Location: Morristown, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel - Clinical Allied
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: PM
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
Schedule: 3 to 12-hour shifts or 4 to 10-hour shifts with on-call every 4th weekend and 1 day per week

Job Description

• Assist proceduralist during complex diagnostic and interventional vascular and neuro-interventional cases, scrubbing side by side with specialty proceduralist
• Operate floor and ceiling mounted fluoroscopic modality machines
• Identify, retrieve, and circulate complex products during interventional procedures
• Apply critical thinking during neuro-interventional and complex cases to assist proceduralist
• Operate power injection devices for iodinated contrast media during diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Maintain sterile technique and infection prevention measures while setting up procedural trays
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team including nurses, radiologists, and vascular surgeons
• Document procedures in electronic medical records and send images to PACS system
• Manage groin care post intervention
• Provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment

Required Qualifications

• Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in New Jersey
• 3 to 5 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, including scrub assist experience
• Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
• Cardiovascular Technologist experience
• Current Radiography (R) certification with ARRT
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• High School Diploma or GED; Associate degree or completion of an accredited radiographic program

Additional Information

• This role requires radiographic licensure to operate x-ray fluoroscopic modalities and is similar to a Cardiovascular Technologist role
• Strong communication skills using closed-loop communication are essential
