Job Opportunity: Emergency Department RN

Location: Lewiston, Maine
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will be a vital member of the patient care team responsible for delivering both direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process. The Emergency Center provides a full spectrum of emergency care including a separate Chest Pain Center.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess patients upon admission and throughout their stay
Administer IV medications, therapy, and blood products as needed
Provide patient education
Document nursing care actions, teaching, observations, and patient responses

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid RN license in Maine
Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience within the last year
Minimum 1 year of critical care nursing experience
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification

Additional Information

Candidates with any licensure or background issues will not be considered
Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid
The employer reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract
Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility

Note: Prior travel experience is required for this position.
