Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Surgery

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Overview

• Unit: Cardiovascular (CV) PreOp
• Number of Beds: 4
• Patient Ratio: 1:1
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM
• On-Call: Required to stay late 1-2 times per week
• Floating: Within scope of practice and experience
• Equipment: GE Carescape Monitoring, Fuji ultrasound
• Documentation System: Cerner

Patient Population & Care

• High-acuity cardiovascular surgery patients
• Procedures include large-bore IV starts, chin-to-toe hair removal, medication administration, skin assessment
• Assist with arterial line, central line, and epidural placement
• Transport patients to OR; assist with induction/intubation, positioning, and skin prep

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of preoperative experience, with preoperative experience within the last year
• Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience
• Critical Care experience
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and BCMA
