Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Surgery

Unit Information

• Unit: Surgery (7 OR suites)
• Number of beds: 7
• Staff: Approximately 45 (RNs, CSTs, ancillary support)
• Day shift staffing: 1 charge RN, 6-7 RNs, 6-7 CSTs, orderly, anesthesia techs
• Night shift staffing: 1 RN, 1 CST
• Patient ratio: Approximately 1:1
• EMR system: Meditech
• Equipment: Various surgical and specialty equipment

Schedule

• Typical hours: 7 AM to 7 PM on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
• Weekly hours: 36
• Call requirement: Approximately 10 to 15 days per month (specific to cardiovascular positions)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Experience in Neuro and Neurology cases
• Experience in Orthopedic Surgery and Ortho/Spine cases
• Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Trauma center experience
• Additional Ortho experience

Additional Information

• Dress code: Hospital-provided scrubs must be worn daily
• Floating assignments may be required within the unit or related areas
