OR Tech / Surgical Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Eureka, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (5x8 hours), 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Hours per Week: 40

Job Description

• Start Date: ASAP
• Surgical Services specialty
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted if they have 2 years of experience; less than 2 years requires screening
• Weekend shifts available separately
• Float required to SPD and Endoscopy departments
• No pending CA state license accepted; active CA state license required
• No more than 7 days of Return to Office (RTO) restrictions
• Unit has 10 rooms/beds

Required Qualifications

• Surgical Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience
• Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• Active California state license for Surgical Tech
• ACLS, BLS certifications (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation accepted)
• Other certifications may be required based on clinical track (e.g., PALS, NRP, CHEMO, EFM) — verify per clinical track
• Medication and competency exams as applicable
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
• Fit mask test required for travel candidates (updated annually)
• Immunizations and health documents:

  • TDAP within 10 years (declination accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual update required)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
  • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with masking requirements
• 9 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)
• Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates

Background and Compliance

• Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
• Education verification required for all candidates
• Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
• Employment application covering at least last 5 years required
• Skills checklist updated annually as applicable
• State-specific searches and attestations as required (e.g., WA, OR, AK) depending on placement
• Photo for badge required (passport style with neutral background)

Additional Requirements

• Float policy acknowledgment required; may be required to float to other nearby facilities
• Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules required via LMS (Workramp)
• Epic training modules required if applicable to facility/unit
• WA multi-state licensed nurses must complete demographic attestation prior to start (if applicable)
