Registered Nurse - ER (Emergency Room)

Location: Rochester, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule & Shift Details

Night shift: 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday requirement: Available to work every other holiday, if needed
Charting system: EPIC experience required
Floating: Required to float within skillset
Locals: Registered Nurses within 75 miles are not accepted

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in New York
Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
Experience administering IV vasopressors
Proficient in CPAP/BiPAP management
Ventilator management experience
Skilled in patient triage

Unit & Patient Population

Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 5 patients
Patient types: Adults and geriatrics with all emergency diagnoses
Special equipment used: Bair hugger, rapid infuser, safe patient handling equipment
Scrub color: Navy blue and white combinations

Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (specific mask types accepted)
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; TB questionnaire accepted in lieu of annual renewal
Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (surface antibody positive titer, completed series, or declination)
- Varicella
Drug screening within 30 days of start (amphetamines, cocaine, ecstasy, fentanyl, heroin, opiates)
Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination required during flu season
Snellen eye exam within 1 year of start (not required annually)
COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required
