Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with Telemetry experience to work in a 36-bed medical telemetry unit. The unit provides care with a focus on medical remote telemetry monitoring and uses Cerner EMR systems. The environment is fast-paced and team-oriented, requiring compassionate and hard-working professionals.

Unit Information

Unit: Medical Telemetry (5 West)
Beds: 36
Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs, 3 CNAs, 1 HUC, 1-2 sitters
- Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 7 RNs, 3 CNAs, 0.5 HUC, 1-2 sitters
Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:
- Day: 1:5 or 1:6
- Night: 1:6 or 1:7
Equipment:
- Medical remote telemetry monitoring
- Cerner Patient Observation (CPO)
- VC150 monitors in every patient room
- Workstations on wheels for staff
- Tap and Go computer/documentation access
EMR: Cerner

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Minimum 2 years of Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Certifications:
- ACLS
- BLS
Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

Leadership experience
Charge Nurse experience
BSN degree

Work Schedule & Expectations

Must sign up for 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (Friday, Saturday, Sunday count as weekend shifts on night shift)
Floating to sister Med-Surg units (3W, 5W, K8) may be required
Dress code: Navy blue scrubs (top and bottom), white top with navy blue bottom, or all white

Typical Procedures & Patient Care

No direct procedures on unit, but patients are prepared for Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology (IR), and Operating Room (OR) procedures
