Registered Nurse (Telemetry) - Travel Contract
Location: Austin, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Patient Ratio: 6:1
Unit: Orthopedics/Trauma, 34 beds
Unit Overview
- Night shift staffing: 1 Charge Nurse, 6 Nurses, 2 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
- Equipment used: Welch Allyn Vital Signs monitors, GE Telemetry Monitoring
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: MediTech
- Typical procedures: Wound Vac, CPM Machines, External Fixation, Bracing
- Dress code: Navy scrubs required
- Culture: Outgoing, team-oriented staff fit best
- Recognition: 1 ICARE Award, 4 Daisy Award winners on the unit
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of telemetry experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Preferred Skills
- Medical/Surgical nursing experience
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
Additional Information
- No on-call requirements
- Weekend shifts every other weekend
- Assignment involves 6:1 patient ratios, occasionally 5:1
- Emphasis on candidates with telemetry and medical/surgical experience
