Job Description

• Provide 24/7 high-acuity care to critically ill patients recovering from major surgeries or experiencing acute medical conditions.
• Responsibilities include advanced patient assessment, ventilator and life-support management, continuous hemodynamic monitoring, medication titration, complex wound care, and coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams.

Shift and Hours

• Night shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• 36 hours per week

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Jersey
• Minimum of 3 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, with ICU experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Certifications:

  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Orientation and Onboarding

• Completion of full orientation is mandatory; failure to complete results in immediate termination.
• Orientation includes virtual welcome meeting, online HealthStream modules, and in-person classes (typically Tuesday through Thursday).
• POCT class attendance required (not during orientation week).
• Unit-based orientation schedule provided by manager.
• Badge ID must be obtained in person during orientation; photo submissions are not accepted. Badge required for clock-ins.

Additional Requirements and Compliance

• Background check, drug screen, and employment verification.
• Mandatory vaccinations and health screenings including COVID-19, Influenza, Hepatitis B, MMR, TdaP, Varicella, and TB.
• Various competency exams and training including Dysrhythmia Basic A, Stroke Education, and Core Mandatory Annual Training.
• Compliance with confidentiality, license verification, and multiple federal and state screening checks.
