Opportunity:

RN - MedSurg Inpatient Rehab

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts with every other weekend required
• Weekend and holiday coverage required as part of 24/7 unit coverage
• Patient ratio typically 5 patients per nurse
• 15-bed unit consisting of 13 single rooms and 1 double room
• Care for inpatient rehabilitation patients experiencing life-changing events such as surgeries, strokes, and multi-trauma
• Focus on intense rehabilitation and nursing strategies to improve functional gain and restore baseline function
• Occasional titration of drips including heparin based on lab results, blood infusions, and IVIG; primarily manages antibiotics via IV
• No telemetry monitoring on this unit
• Charge nurses frequently take a modified assignment of 2-3 patients and may take a full assignment when circumstances require
• 2 CNAs staffed per shift with CNA-to-patient ratios of 1:7 on days and 1:11 on nights
• Floating to inpatient settings required if unit is overstaffed
• Charting completed in EPIC
• MedSurg experience required; inpatient rehab nursing experience preferred but not required
• BSN not required
• Required certification: BLS
• Professional scrubs in any color required
• Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving of 50+ pounds throughout each 12-hour shift

This acute care facility operates at a Trauma Level 2 designation and provides comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation services within a supportive and team-oriented environment. The facility utilizes EPIC for charting and maintains 24/7 coverage across all inpatient units to ensure consistent, high-quality patient care.
