Job Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) on the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is responsible for providing care to a mixed patient population, including medical/surgical and intermediate care levels, with varying acuities. The RN will manage patient care by administering medications, managing IV lines, performing wound care, and interpreting telemetry monitoring. The role requires collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Care for a mixed patient unit with Med/Surg to IMC level patients
- Administer medications including oral, IV, IM, SQ, and vasoactive drips
- Manage peripheral, midline, PICC, and central line access, as well as other medical devices
- Provide telemetry monitoring and interpretation
- Engage in preventative and restorative skin and wound care
Requirements:
- 1 year of nursing experience in a PCU setting
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
- Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing
- Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
- EPIC experience required for first-time travelers
