RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work on A3 West Medical Surgical Telemetry unit with 38 beds
• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge RN, 6-7 RNs, 1 LPN, 3 PCTs, and 1 unit secretary
• Night shift staffing includes 1 charge RN, 6 RNs, 1 LPN, 2-3 PCTs, and HUC for part of shift
• Patient ratios of 6:1 with goal for charge nurse to be out of staffing to assist, night stretch ratios 7:1
• Required to have medical/surgical nursing experience and telemetry experience
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Perform typical procedures including peripheral IV starts, dressing changes, and standard medical surgical skills
• Work with equipment including Baxter IV pumps, wound vacs, SCDS, prima-fits, and primo-fits
• Use Cerner PowerChart EMR system
• BLS certification required
• Float to other medical surgical units and ED holding medical/surgical patients
• Work every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Travelers float before permanent staff
• Dress code requires all navy, all white, or white top with navy pants, navy or white undershirts if needed
• Must be a team player with positive attitude and willingness to help others without being asked
