Pediatric RN

Overview

• 13-week contract
• Location: Medford, Oregon
• 12-hour nights, 36 hours per week
• Weekends required
• 12 hours of non-billable orientation in the first work week

Required Qualifications

• RN Oregon State Board of Nursing license; candidates may be considered if they will have the license before start
• 2–3 years of experience in a pediatric inpatient setting
• 1 year of RN experience in Pediatric Med Surg, Pediatric ICU/Critical Care, or Pediatric Medical Oncology
• AHA BLS
• AHA PALS

Preferred Qualifications

• Charge experience
• Pediatric Nurse certification
• APHONN certification

Unit Details

• Pediatric Unit serving patients from 1 day old to 17 completed years of age
• 16 regular beds that can flex to general, IMCU, or critical care needs
• Average daily census: 4–7
• Typical ratios: 1:4 for general medical patients and 1:3 for IMCU-level patients, depending on acuity

Float Scope

• May float to NICU/FNB (postpartum) and L&D, based on competency and skills for a pediatric nurse

Support and Workflow

• CNAs and some Unit Secretary coverage; no Unit Secretary coverage on NOC shift
• Supported by pediatric hospitalists with 24/7 coverage

• EPIC
• Omnicell
• omniflex

Additional Notes

• Local candidates are not accepted; 50-mile radius restriction
• Non-Oregon licensed RNs may be eligible for a 90-day temporary license if their permanent license is not posted before assignment start
• Scrubs required
