Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN Perioperative Circulator for an Adult Surgery OR position requiring at least 1 year of acute OR experience and Level 1 trauma experience, with trauma call and holiday shifts required.
Details
- Works in an Adult Surgery Operating Room at an academic hospital setting
- Performs circulator role for operative and other invasive procedures
- Level 1 trauma experience of 6+ months required for this unit
- Day shift: 10-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM), 4 days per week (Friday through Monday)
- 40 hours per week
- Trauma call shifts required
- Holiday shift coverage required
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required; all certifications must be AHA-issued
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an acute operating room environment
- 6+ months of Level 1 trauma experience required
- Strong knowledge of AORN Standards and perioperative nursing theory and practices
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- CNOR certification preferred
Additional Information
- Responsible for direct and indirect professional nursing care of patients in the operating room
- Accountable for ongoing evaluation and documentation of all components of care within the perioperative environment using the nursing process
- Individualizes patient care according to the patient's health status, age, and surgical procedure being performed
- Plans and implements care addressing physical, psychological, and spiritual needs of the surgical patient
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible to apply, as workers are permitted only one extension for a total of 26 weeks
- Compliance requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must be completed promptly after acceptance; the facility is strict with compliance deadlines and does not allow start date delays for non-compliant travelers

The unit I was on was mostly made up of travel nurses, which they seem the hire some of the laziest people I’ve ever met. There is a reason they offer such a high pay rate because this place is horrible.
