Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a DC RN license, Cerner proficiency, and a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience.

Details

• Labor & Delivery unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes females of childbearing age, pregnant patients from 17 weeks gestation, laboring patients, and triage cases
• Procedures include vaginal deliveries, C-sections, external cephalic versions, cerclage, and pre-op care
• Unit activities include admissions, discharges, transfers, and deliveries
• Equipment includes fetal monitors; documentation systems include Cerner and Fetalink
• Schedule is 3x12-hour day shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active DC RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience in a U.S. hospital required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the previous 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required
• Date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include caring for laboring patients, managing admissions and discharges, assisting with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, and supporting pre-op and triage patients
• All certifications must be from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• CPI certification is mandated for this position
• Candidates must reside more than 25 miles from the facility to qualify for a travel assignment
