Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Oncology Infusion Clinic role requiring chemotherapy certification and at least one year of outpatient infusion experience.
Details
- Outpatient oncology infusion clinic setting serving adult patients
- Day shift schedule, 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week, 40 hours weekly
- Administers PO and SC injections, chemotherapy drugs, and other prescribed medications
- Initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
- Assists physicians during conscious sedation and minor diagnostic procedures
- Provides phone triage and coordinates patient follow-up and referrals
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
- ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration certificate required
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate required
- Minimum of 1 year of chemotherapy nursing experience required
- Outpatient infusion experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Additional Information
- Delivers chemotherapy administration and patient education on treatment and side effects
- Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and communicates changes in physician orders
- Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
- Interacts with patients and families to share care plans and coordinate discharge and continued care
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Local candidates within the radius will not be considered
- Extensions limited to one time for a maximum of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
- Compliance requirements are strict, with no push starts allowed after booking
- Candidates must be booked at least 4 weeks prior to the start date to allow time for compliance clearance
