Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology Infusion RN requiring current chemotherapy/immunotherapy certification and at least 1 year of outpatient infusion experience.
Details
- Outpatient oncology infusion clinic setting caring for adult patients
- Day shift schedule of 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week, 40 hours weekly
- Administers PO and SC injections, chemotherapy drugs, and other medications as ordered by the physician
- Initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
- Assists physicians during conscious sedation and minor diagnostic procedures
- Provides chemotherapy-related patient and family education
- Coordinates patient follow-up care including referrals and post-visit phone calls
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate required (Oncology Nursing Society)
- Completion of ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration course required
- Minimum of 1 year of chemotherapy administration experience required
- Outpatient infusion experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required, BSN preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Additional Information
- Delivers direct patient care while collaborating with physicians and support staff
- Delegates appropriate tasks to support staff as needed
- Shares care plans with patients and families during clinic visits, discharge, and follow-up phone triage
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
- Facility maintains strict compliance deadlines and will not allow push starts
- Travelers must be booked at least 4 weeks from time of offer to meet compliance requirements
- Returning workers may extend a contract only once for a total of 26 weeks, requiring a 6-month separation before reapplying
