Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Hematology/Oncology Med/Surg unit requiring ONS/ONCC chemotherapy certification and step-down experience.
Details
- Hematology/Oncology unit within a hospital setting
- Cares for step-down level oncology patients
- Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours weekly)
Requirements
- Active RN license from the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact (eNLC) license
- BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
- ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration certification required
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate required
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Step-down unit experience required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills required
Additional Information
- Provide direct nursing care to an assigned group of oncology patients, including administering chemotherapy/immunotherapy and monitoring physiological responses
- Initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products
- Collaborate with physicians on examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Communicate care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
- Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Compliance documentation and onboarding requirements must be completed promptly, as start dates are firm and cannot be pushed
- Returning workers are limited to one contract extension up to a total of 26 weeks, followed by a required 6-month separation before reapplying
