Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Hematology/Oncology Med/Surg unit requiring ONS/ONCC chemotherapy certification and step-down experience.

  • Hematology/Oncology unit within a hospital setting
  • Cares for step-down level oncology patients
  • Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours weekly)

Requirements

  • Active RN license from the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact (eNLC) license
  • BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration certification required
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate required
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
  • Step-down unit experience required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills required

Additional Information

  • Provide direct nursing care to an assigned group of oncology patients, including administering chemotherapy/immunotherapy and monitoring physiological responses
  • Initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products
  • Collaborate with physicians on examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
  • Communicate care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
  • Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
  • Compliance documentation and onboarding requirements must be completed promptly, as start dates are firm and cannot be pushed
  • Returning workers are limited to one contract extension up to a total of 26 weeks, followed by a required 6-month separation before reapplying
