Description

Labor and Delivery RN

Location

  • Meridian, Idaho

Contract

  • 13 weeks
  • 12-hour night shifts
  • 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

  • RN license
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NRP
  • STABLE, taken at least once
  • AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring
  • Experience in labor and delivery, postpartum, and circulating
  • Ability to titrate drips

Preferred Experience

  • Triage experience

Unit Details

  • Labor and delivery unit with postpartum and triage beds
  • Approximately 120 births per month
  • AWHONN staffing standards are followed
  • Common patient types include laboring patients 32 weeks and greater, induction patients, stable antepartum patients, postpartum patients, and well newborns

Schedule and Work Expectations

  • 12-hour shifts: 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
  • No more than five shifts in a row
  • Weekend and holiday needs are based on unit needs
  • No call or standby requirement

Floating

  • Required to float to like units within the valley
  • May also float as a sitter in medical-surgical or emergency department settings

Orientation

  • Customized orientation, typically 4 to 6 shifts

Additional Notes

  • Blue scrubs are provided on the unit
  • Charge RN, resource RN, and house supervisor are on each shift
  • OB hospitalist is in house 24/7
  • Neonatal NP is in house 24/7
  • CRNA is in house 24/7
