Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• 1 year or more of total travel experience
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• TNCC
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Ability to assist with arterial line placement
• Ability to assist with central line placement
• Ability to assist with chest tube placement

Key Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients across all acuity levels in the emergency department
• Triage and assess patients quickly
• Manage a 4–5:1 patient ratio, assuming an average ESI level 3 patient
• Care for stroke, STEMI, trauma, and sepsis patients
• Perform clinical skills including PIV, NG/OG tubes, Foley placement, splinting, wound care, and port access/deaccess
• Assist with arterial line, central line, and chest tube placement
• Answer call lights and transport patients
• Complete EMTALA paperwork per hospital policy
• Float to other departments when not needed in the emergency department
• Help precept eventually

Preferred

• Experience as a preceptor and/or charge nurse

• Any solid-color scrubs are allowed
• Small, high-acuity emergency department
• Level III trauma center, STEMI, and stroke-ready setting
