Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• ACLS
• BLS
• NIHSS
• Knowledge of Heparin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Amiodarone drips
• Chest tube management
• Wound vac management

Unit Details

• 30-bed cardiac unit
• Typical patient ratio: 5–6:1
• Floating may include general medical-surgical, ortho, PCU, and medical-surgical surgical with oncology areas

Clinical Experience / Skills

• Cardiac knowledge preferred
• Experience with heparin, Cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, and amiodarone drips
• Chest tube management
• Wound vac management
• EKGs as needed

Workflow / Expectations

• Every-other-weekend schedule
• Telemetry documentation, rhythm strip acknowledgment, and charting each shift
• Bedside rounding and hourly rounding with 5P’s
• Report known patient needs to PCTs at the start of and during shifts

Equipment / Systems

• Telemetry equipment
• Meditech documentation system
• Pyxis dispensing system

Dress Code / Appearance

• Navy scrubs for RNs
• No artificial nails, gel nails, or gel nail polish
• No graphics on undershirts
