Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room

Location: Chattanooga, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36 hours

Unit & Work Environment

• Unit: Preoperative Holding / Day Surgery
• Number of Beds: 472
• Staffing: Unit secretaries and techs available in Day Surgery
• Equipment: Cardiac monitors, ultrasound, EKG machine
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling:

  • 3 shifts of 12 hours or 4 shifts of 10 hours considered
  • One closing day per week (shift starts between 5:00 am and 7:00 am depending on surgery schedule)
  • Closing day shift runs from 7:00 am until last patient leaves, with time-and-a-half pay after 7:00 pm
• Floating Policy: Only floats between Day Surgery and Preop Holding
• No weekends or holidays required
• Excellent teamwork on unit

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Experience in Pre-Op and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
