Role Overview

• Float RN position covering Ortho units.
• The assignment may also float to Critical Care, where med/surg or stepdown-type patients are assigned.

Required Qualifications

• RN license: WV or compact license
• BLS certification
• EPIC experience
• MS/Tele experience
• Low-level Ortho experience

Unit Details

• Medsurg 5S
• Main ratios are 1:5-6 on days and nights; occasionally up to 7 patients toward the end of a shift depending on acuity.
• Every unit has a charge nurse.
• All units use CNAs.
• Tele monitoring is Phillips; RN must be able to read and interpret strips.
• RT manages CPAP, BiPap, vents, aerosols for non-vented patients, and EKGs.
• IV Team is available house-wide until 10 pm Monday-Friday and until 3:30 pm on weekends.
• In-house pharmacy is available 24/7 and uses Accudose.
• Floor orientation is 1-2 shifts with a preceptor.
• Common patient types include CHF, cardiac cath, CP, pneumonia, chronic renal disease, COPD, Ortho, and Oncology.

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts: 7a-7p or 7p-7a
• 36 hours per week
• Every-other-weekend requirement
• Holiday rotation with permanent staff
• Nights as scheduled

Preferred

• Ability to work primarily on 6N if requested
• Ability to block schedule if requested

Additional Notes

• 50-mile radius rule applies.
• Candidate must include a copy of an unexpired driver’s license with submission.
• No false nails.
