Registered Nurse – Med Surg (Telemetry)

Location: Terre Haute, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Unit & Patient Population

• Med/Surg unit with 32 beds, including remote telemetry monitoring (telemetry only if ordered, monitored 24/7)
• Patient types include:

  • Stable ventilator patients
  • Bipap patients
  • Acute and chronic renal failure patients
  • Dialysis patients
  • Fluid overload cases
  • General medical and surgical patients
• Care provided under Internal Medicine physicians, Family Practice, and Hospitalist overflow

Clinical Responsibilities & Skills

• Management of IV drips including:

  • Dopamine at a constant rate (5 mcg, no titration) for renal perfusion
  • Heparin administration
• Telemetry monitoring as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Indiana
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification

Additional Information

• Night shift schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours each
• Radius rule: Candidates must be located between 50 and 100 miles from the facility (no candidates within 50 miles accepted)
