Job Description

Provide professional nursing care to a group of patients during assigned shifts using the nursing process and current nursing practices.
Perform initial patient assessments upon admission and develop, implement, and modify individualized care plans in collaboration with providers, patients, and families.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
Ensure patient and staff safety by identifying, reporting, and correcting hazards.
Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, families, and visitors to promote a healing environment.
Provide constructive feedback to peers and engage in ongoing professional development.
Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

Apply nursing procedures and theories specific to Emergency Department (ED) nursing.
Collaborate closely with providers and families in patient care planning.
Participate in safety interventions and adhere to safety standards.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

Shift Details

Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
12-hour shifts
36 hours per week
Includes 2 call shifts per 6-week period (13-hour call shifts; must be onsite within 1 hour)
No block scheduling

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Illinois
Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
ACLS certification
PALS certification
Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Preferred Qualifications

Trauma Level 2 or higher experience preferred
TNCC certification highly preferred
