Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry (Surgical Unit)
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Description
- Acute care interventional telemetry medical-surgical unit with 30 private/semi-private beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5-6
- Patient population primarily post-op GI patients with moderate to high acuity
- Common treatments and equipment: Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Insulin, Ketamine drips, PCA pumps, epidurals, Foley catheters, drains
- No ventilated patients on the unit
- Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry
- Use of EPIC EMR system
- Uniform: Navy blue scrubs
- Work schedule includes every other weekend and every other holiday
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
