Physical Therapist – Adult Outpatient

Location: Juneau, Alaska
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 40 hours per week; shifts vary Monday–Friday 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Job Summary

Provide general physical therapy evaluations and treatments across a wide range of ages and diagnoses.
Assess patients, perform evaluations, identify therapy diagnoses, and develop and implement treatment plans with goals.
Supervise and modify therapy plans based on patient response to optimize outcomes.
Oversee and direct Physical Therapist Assistants and other designated staff.
Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate care, including arranging medical equipment prior to discharge.
Document patient encounters, treatment plans, recommendations, and prognoses according to policy.
Work with both inpatient and outpatient populations in various settings.
Develop and conduct patient and family education and therapy programs, including clear home exercise instructions with feedback and demonstration.
Assist in administrative matters, clinic operations, and specialty/research areas as needed.
Maintain clinical supplies, equipment, and cleanliness of clinical space.
Stay current with billing procedures related to Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payers.
Provide therapy consultations, presentations, and in-services to medical staff and interdisciplinary personnel.
Adhere to regulatory and practice standards set by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
Participate in quality assurance and confidentiality standards and related functions.

Required Qualifications

Valid Physical Therapist license in Alaska
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist, including experience within the last year
Experience in an outpatient setting
Experience in supervisory roles
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Valid driver’s license

Additional Information

Applicants must live at least 50 miles away from the work location to be eligible.
Housing and flights are not provided.
