Overview

  • Travel RN position in Dallas, Texas
  • 36 hours per week
  • 13-week contract
  • NICU setting

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Texas
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (1 year of experience)
  • NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year
  • BLS
  • NRP
  • Experience working with Neonate patients
  • Experience with preemies at least 28 weeks and above
  • Experience with patients less than 27 weeks
  • Management of central lines
  • Respiratory management up to and including intubated patients
  • Care of tracheostomy infants
  • Experience with broviacs
  • Experience with surgical patients
  • Experience with cardiac patients

Clinical Experience

  • Experience with preemies at 28 weeks and above
  • Experience with patients under 27 weeks
  • Experience managing central lines
  • Experience with respiratory management, including intubated patients
  • Experience caring for trach infants
  • Experience with broviacs
  • Experience with surgical and cardiac patients

Unit Details

  • 108 beds
  • Patient ratio ranges from 1:1 to 1:4
  • Staffed with RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and Nurse Externs
  • Uses nasal cannula, bubble CPAP, vents, oscillators, IV pumps, NIRS, warmers, and isolettes

Schedule

  • 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
  • Rotating weekends and holidays

Floating

  • May float before staff to PICU, Pediatrics, and CICU
  • May care for patients under 2 years old

Procedures on Unit

  • Central line insertions
  • Circumcisions
  • Exploratory laps
  • Gastroschisis reductions
  • PDA ligations

Dress Code

  • Royal blue scrubs
