Registered Nurse - Medical / Surgical

Location: Utica, New York
Unit: Medical/Surgical Stroke Stepdown (7th Floor)
Shift: Day (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 36
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Care for adult patients with diagnoses including stroke, altered mental status, renal issues, dialysis, COPD, CHF, isolation cases, general medical-surgical conditions, pneumonia, and pulmonary issues.
Use specialty equipment such as IV pumps, nasogastric (N/G) tubes, and feeding tubes.
Floating to other units is required.
Scrub color: Navy Blue.
Unit size: 64 beds.
Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical/Surgical nursing with stroke stepdown experience.
Prior travel experience is required.
Active New York RN license.
Current AHA BLS certification.
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required (can be obtained prior to start).
Valid driver’s license with address matching demographic information.
Must provide a NURSYS report verifying all active RN licenses.
Skills checklist matching specialty required.
Resume must include documented travel experience.
Return to Office (RTO) information must be included at submission.
