Unit: 3West Cardiac, 30 beds
Patient Ratio: 5-6 patients per nurse
Staffing: Unit clerk (days), 2-3 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) day & night, Nursing Supervisor, Hospitalists
Equipment: Welch Allyn vitals neuron, Novameter glucose, Philips Telemetry, MP2 monitors
Documentation System: Meditech-HCA version
Medication Systems: WOW with med drawers, PyxisES dispensing system
Scheduling: Equivalent to every other weekend off (4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule)
Floating Policy: May float to general medical/surgical, orthopedic, progressive care unit (PCU), and medical/surgical surgical with oncology units based on skill mix
Patient Experience: Bedside rounding, hourly rounding with 5P’s, communication with PCTs about patient needs, use of glass board and video kiosk for updates

Valid RN license in Tennessee
Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
ACLS certification
BLS certification
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Knowledge of Heparin drips
Knowledge of Cardizem drips
Knowledge of Dobutamine drips
Knowledge of Dopamine drips
Knowledge of Amiodarone drips

Documentation of telemetry application and rhythm strip acknowledgment each shift
Strict "No Pass Zone" policy for bed alarms, call lights, IV alarms, etc.
Dress Code: Navy scrubs for RNs; no artificial or gel nails or gel nail polish allowed
May wear white, blue, grey, or black t-shirts under scrubs (no graphics)

Strong leadership presence with Charge Nurses having 12 to 39 years of seniority on dayshift and 15+ years on nightshift
Shared Governance model at unit and facility level
Recognized with Daisy and Bee Awards, iHEAL nominations

This position is a travel assignment in a cardiac telemetry unit requiring strong cardiac nursing skills and certifications.
