Location: Grinnell, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work primarily in Labor & Delivery with occasional float to Med Surg or ICU to assist with medication pass or tech cares (infrequently).
Labor & Delivery unit details:
- 3 LDRP beds, 4 Postpartum beds
- Patient ratios: 1:1 during active labor, 1:3-4 for couplets
- Manage titration of Pitocin
- Deliveries per month: 19-31 (annual average ~300)
- Patient types: labor, delivery, postpartum, antepartum, newborn nursery
Med Surg unit details (when floated):
- 23 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:5
- Patient types include bariatric surgery, orthopedic, general med-surg
- Drip management including heparin
Workweek: 36-40 hours, with overtime billable after 40 hours
Call back and on-call pay multipliers apply (not included here)
EMR system used: EPIC

Valid RN license in Iowa
Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification
Membership or certification with AWHONN (Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses)
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system
